About Me
I am a software engineer focused on bringing clarity to complex systems— clear systems, clear communication, and clear outcomes. My work sits at the intersection of engineering, business, and real-world systems, where I aim to not only build software, but to ensure that what we build actually solves the right problems.
Fullstack Developer & Engineering Leader
I currently work as a Fullstack Developer at Alliander, where I build systems that support critical infrastructure in the energy domain. My work focuses on React frontends, NestJS backends, and MongoDB, often in combination with GIS data and geospatial workflows.
These systems are used by field engineers to understand, maintain, and extend the physical energy grid. This has given me a strong appreciation for how software interacts with real-world systems, where correctness, clarity, and reliability are essential.
Alongside my engineering role, I serve as Club Manager at Headliners.tech, where I support developers within a consultancy environment. I work on coaching engineers, improving internal processes, and helping shape tools that make the organization more effective.
This role has strengthened my ability to operate beyond code—thinking about team dynamics, business needs, and how to create systems (both technical and organizational) that scale. I focus on helping engineers grow in both technical skill and clarity of communication.
Across both roles, I bring a consistent focus on structuring complexity— whether designing APIs and system integrations, or improving how teams collaborate and deliver value. I am particularly interested in how systems evolve over time, balancing speed, maintainability, and long-term clarity.
In my previous role as a Fullstack Developer at VodafoneZiggo, I worked on complex, production-grade systems supporting large-scale customer-facing applications. My work spanned React-based frontends, Node.js/NestJS services, Java backends, and cloud infrastructure.
Earlier in my career at MatchWornShirt, I combined hands-on development with leadership responsibilities as a Developer, Scrum Master, and Frontend Team Lead. I worked across Vue/Nuxt and .NET to deliver an E-commerce Marketplace and Admin tools, while mentoring developers and helping guide the team’s direction. Notable projects included matchwornshirt.com, admin.mws.com, and fabricks.com.
As a Software Engineer II at Clockwork in Amsterdam, I worked closely with business stakeholders to build a data visualization platform, contributing to both frontend and backend architecture. This experience strengthened my ability to connect technical implementation with business context—something that continues to shape how I approach software today.
What I’m Working Toward
I’m working toward roles that combine technical depth with strategic impact— where I can help shape systems, guide teams, and ensure that technology decisions align with real business needs.
I’m particularly interested in paths such as Solutions Architecture and Technical Product Management, where I can operate across boundaries: translating between engineering and business, structuring complex problems, and helping teams build systems that are both effective and sustainable.
At the core, my goal is to build and support systems—technical and organizational—that are clear, scalable, and meaningful to the people who use and maintain them.
Educator, Polyglot & IT Manager
My experience extends beyond traditional software engineering into education, language, and operations. While studying Mandarin at the Mandarin Training Center in Taiwan, I worked as an English teacher, developing my ability to communicate clearly across language and cultural boundaries.
Teaching in an international environment required adaptability, patience, and the ability to explain complex ideas in simple, accessible ways—skills that continue to shape how I communicate and collaborate in engineering teams.
Earlier, I directed the IT department for National Pain Care, where I was responsible for managing systems, supporting operations, and aligning technology with organizational needs. This role strengthened my ability to take ownership, operate independently, and connect technical work to real business outcomes.
Across these experiences, I developed a broader perspective on how people, systems, and environments interact—something that continues to influence how I approach both technology and teamwork.
Fitness Instructor
Alongside my work in technology, I also work as a fitness instructor, leading group classes focused on calisthenics, HIIT, and mobility.
I design sessions that balance strength, conditioning, and movement quality, with an emphasis on clear instruction and sustainable progress. This role reflects many of the same principles I value in engineering—structure, consistency, and helping people improve over time.
Teaching has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different skill levels, and create environments where people can challenge themselves while staying engaged and motivated.
Adventurer & Lifelong Learner
Outside of coding, I’m an adventurer at heart with a global outlook. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries, and that same curiosity and drive for discovery shows up in my work as a developer. Whether it’s exploring new technologies, studying systems more deeply, or learning a new language, I’m always motivated by understanding how things work and how they can be improved.
I’m focused on building systems and teams that create meaningful, lasting impact—where technical depth, thoughtful leadership, and clarity come together. Whether working in code or with people, I care about making complex things understandable and effective for those who rely on them.
